The half-day adventure gets you out of the city and exploring the incredible flora and fauna of the Sierra Madre mountains, as your small, guided group makes its way to the stunning waterfall.
Your journey begins with a 20-minute scenic ride south on a public bus, the first step in escaping the typical tourist excursions and discovering Puerto Vallarta like a local.
Next, you will embark upon a 45-minute journey to the waterfall on an intermediate-level hike, a mix of soft trails with some more challenging footwork as you weave along the riverbed, making several shallow river crosses on your way.
During your hike, Sylvie will teach you about the biodiversity of the region and some of its history, until you reach your destination – the Palo Maria waterfall, with its emerald green, sparkling swimming hole, surrounded by large boulders and the lush jungle.
Dip behind the waterfall and find the natural seat carved into the rocks over thousands of years, the ideal spot to take a perfect vacation photo.
