Being a town on a huge bay, fishing has always been a major occupation. So we have an abundance of fresh fish, giving us some wonderful seafood restaurants. Some traditional dishes are whole fried or barbecued red snapper (huachinango), or the zarandeado, which is butterflied, rubbed with spices and barbecued. Although not caught locally there’s and abundance of shrimp and shrimp dishes.
