Puerto Vallarta has received three nominations in the 2026 Ángel del Turismo Awards, including Tourist Destination of the Year and Public Management in Meeting Tourism for the Puerto Vallarta Tourism Trust.

The Trust markets and supports large-scale conventions, corporate incentives, and international gatherings. The awards also include a nomination for the Puerto Vallarta International Convention Center in the Business Merit Award in the Meetings Industry. That category honors venues that excel in hosting high-impact professional events.

Jalisco received five nominations in the eleventh edition of the Ángel del Turismo Awards. Mundo Cuervo was nominated for Promoter of Mexico Abroad, while Guadalajara was named a finalist for Best Venue of the 2026 World Cup.

The awards have recognized innovation, growth, and excellence in Mexico’s tourism and business events sector for over a decade. Winners are selected through initial applications, jury selection, and an open public vote. The public vote allows industry insiders, residents, and frequent travelers to weigh in on the top contenders.

The Puerto Vallarta Tourism Trust is encouraging people to vote online at angeldelturismo.com. Final results will be announced during the annual “Night of Angels” gala on October 29. The ceremony will take place in Puebla, marking the first time the “Night of Angels” celebration leaves Mexico City.

For visitors planning around business-event activity, the nominations point to three parts of the local offering: the convention center, the destination itself, and the tourism trust’s work supporting large gatherings.
