Vallarta ArtWalk Opens 30th Season October 28
Vallarta ArtWalk will open its 30th season on Wednesday, October 28, with 16 participating galleries in the Centro Histórico. Admission is free, and the tour is self-guided.
The Centro Histórico has hosted ArtWalk since 1996. As the new season starts, galleries there will open their doors for the first weekly evening tours. The season continues every Wednesday from 6 to 10 p.m. through May 26, 2027.
Visitors may begin at any gallery and set their own pace. Most participating galleries allow visitors to explore at their own pace and return to favorite spaces during the week, Orozco says. Most participating galleries also keep regular business hours throughout the week, according to Orozco.
Carolina Orozco is president of Vallarta ArtWalk and the gallerist at Galería de Ollas. She says artists create works on canvas, wood, metal, stone and clay through painting, shaping, carving, sculpting and assembling. Orozco also says every participating gallery reflects the powerful role art plays in people’s lives, and that Mexico is home to an extraordinary wealth of artistic talent.
Galería Corsica has two locations and will celebrate its 25th anniversary with a special event on Friday, November 27, at 8 p.m.
Free brochures containing gallery profiles and a map are available at local hotels, businesses and participating galleries. A digital map is posted at vallartaartwalk.com. ArtWalk is also on Facebook and Instagram at vallartaartwalk.
Visitors can begin the self-guided tour at any gallery and move at their own pace.
