Avenida Las Palmas closes for sewer work
A section of avenida Las Palmas in Puerto Vallarta closed on Tuesday, October 20, 2026, for work replacing a sanitary sewer subcollector.
The restriction affects eastbound traffic between Bahía de Huatulco and avenida México, in the Parque Las Palmas area. Motorists traveling through Parque Las Palmas have been required to take precautions since Tuesday, October 20.
The west-to-east direction of avenida Las Palmas is closed on the affected section, so drivers should follow the signs placed in the area, allow extra travel time, drive cautiously, and consider alternate routes while the work continues.
SEAPAL Vallarta reported that the traffic restriction would last approximately one week. The restriction would remain in place for one week while the sanitary subcollector replacement work was carried out in Parque Las Palmas.
SEAPAL Vallarta disseminated a diagram of the intervention area identifying the work area and the alternate route, which was intended to facilitate vehicular circulation during the work period.
The replacement is part of maintenance and improvement work on Puerto Vallarta’s sanitary infrastructure. SEAPAL Vallarta explained that replacing the subcollector sought to improve the functioning of the sanitary drainage network and prevent risks to public health and the environment.
For visitors heading through Parque Las Palmas during the restriction, leave early and follow the signs around the work area.
