Delfines beat Charros 2–0 in rain-shortened game
Delfines de Puerto Vallarta defeated Charros de Jalisco 2–0 on Sunday in a preseason game at Unidad Deportiva Agustín Flores Contreras.
Rain limited the game to seven innings, but the weather did not stop fans from attending the second game between the two teams.
The matchup remained scoreless through six innings before Delfines de Puerto Vallarta broke the tie in the seventh.
A hit that split the diamond allowed two runners to score and decided the game.
Delfines’ pitching was solid in the game, keeping Charros off the scoreboard.
Charros arrived in Puerto Vallarta after winning the first game on Saturday, so the two teams split the honors during their visit to Puerto Vallarta.
Irving Vázquez started for the visiting team and pitched two scoreless innings.
Carlos Baez, Axel Muñoz, Darío Gardea, Óscar Valenzuela, and Adrián Ruiz subsequently took the mound for Charros.
Charros will return to Guadalajara to continue preparing for the 2026–27 season of the Liga Mexicana del Pacífico Banamex.
The team will seek to defend its championship.
