Costa Banderas Democrats Abroad lists October voting help
The Costa Banderas Chapter of Democrats Abroad is launching a schedule of community gatherings and voting assistance events in October for U.S. citizens living in or visiting the Bay of Banderas area. The chapter is offering ways for Americans to connect, register, and submit their ballots as election deadlines approach.
Trained voter assistants will staff “Get Out the Vote” help desks every Wednesday throughout October. Voting assistance will be available on October 7, 14, 21, and 28 from 11:00 am to 1:30 pm at Let’s Phò Restaurant, Lázaro Cárdenas 179 in Zona Romántica, near Parque Lázaro Cárdenas. The volunteers will assist Americans with voter registration, requesting absentee ballots, and navigating state-specific rules for returning completed ballots. People needing individual assistance or having specific questions can request an appointment by email through Info-MX-CostaBanderas@democratsabroad.org.
Bucerías will also have Wednesday voting assistance sessions on October 14, 21, and 28, from 9 am to 1 pm. The sessions will be held at Restaurante Miguel Ángel in Plaza Bucerías. Voting assistance will be available at locations in Jalisco and Nayarit.
Coffee On The Beach is an informal breakfast gathering held at Langostinos on the beach in Puerto Vallarta, offering local expatriates an opportunity to catch up over coffee. It returns seasonally on Tuesday, October 6, from 9:00 to 11:00 am.
On Thursday, October 22, the chapter will hold its General Membership Meeting starting at 4:00 pm upstairs at Nacho Daddy, at Basilio Badillo 287 in Puerto Vallarta. The chapter’s first Evening Social of the 2026–2027 season will follow the business meeting, giving members an opportunity to talk politics and network ahead of the midterms.
DACB will join a nonpartisan nationwide effort on Saturday, October 17, in solidarity with the “No Kings Day – Vote Early” initiative promoted by Indivisible Abroad. The action focuses on civic participation and is intended to ensure every eligible overseas American has a clear voting plan and knows how to exercise their voting rights early. DACB organizers say that an overseas vote only has power when it is cast, and that making a clear plan to submit ballots on time remains the top priority.
Democrats Abroad has country committees and local chapters in more than 80 countries around the world. It is the official Democratic Party organization for millions of Americans living outside the United States. Clint Harris is the chapter chair of the Costa Banderas Chapter of Democrats Abroad. For October help in Puerto Vallarta or Bucerías, visitors and residents can go to the listed Wednesday sessions or email the chapter to request an individual appointment.
