Mezcales-San Vicente rollover closes central lane
A serious rollover near San Isidro left at least two people injured and closed the central lane of avenida Emilio M. González.
The accident occurred on the night of Wednesday, September 30, in the Mezcales-to-San Vicente section of Bahía de Banderas. The crash involved two vehicles near the location known as RolCar, and one of the vehicles overturned.
A red sedan ended up completely overturned with all four tires pointing skyward. Paramedics and firefighters from Bahía de Banderas assisted the occupants of both vehicles, while paramedic personnel provided care to the injured people.
The accident prompted an intense mobilization of emergency responders. The Prehospital Coordination and the Firefighting Operations Coordination of Civil Protection and Firefighters of Bahía de Banderas responded to the scene, and officers from the Bahía de Banderas Traffic Police went there as well.
The rollover caused the central lane of avenida Emilio M. González to be closed, affecting traffic in this section of Bahía de Banderas. The area remained under the authorities’ attention while crews carried out maneuvers to remove the involved vehicles and clear the affected lane on the Mezcales-to-San Vicente highway.
Information about the number of injured people and the possible involvement of a third vehicle is preliminary and could be updated as proceedings advance. A pickup truck may also have been involved.
The traffic authority will determine how the road accident occurred. It will also assign responsibility to establish payment for the damages.
