State Highway 555 Talpa–Tomatlán remains closed this Sunday after heavy rain damaged the route in this area of Jalisco.

The closure is at the junction with the old road to La Cuesta, where road conditions prevent traffic from circulating. No vehicle or motorcycle can currently pass.

The intense rains also caused damage at various points along the road and in the community of La Cuesta, in Talpa de Allende.

Authorities are keeping machinery working on State Highway 555 to address the damage. Work with machinery is continuing to make the road passable and restore traffic as soon as possible, while authorities work to restore the conditions needed to allow traffic again.

Traffic will remain restricted until conditions allow the road to be reopened safely. No estimated reopening time has been reported so far.

People were asked to avoid approaching or attempting to cross the area while the work continues. The recommendation is to avoid traveling on this road and remain attentive to the authorities’ instructions.
