Pepe, a crocodile approximately 2.5 meters long, was seen again on Tuesday, September 22, in a canal in Las Mojoneras, Puerto Vallarta.

The crocodile was located near the intersection of avenida México and Paseo de las Flores. The canal is near a school, and there is concern about the presence of minors.

Pepe’s return to the canal has kept residents in the area on alert. Puerto Vallarta Civil Protection personnel were informed after the report and were to carry out the necessary tasks.

Pepe was captured at the beginning of September after a search that began in August, before the start of classes. He was subsequently taken to Estero El Salado for safekeeping, assessment, and management.

Pepe had been captured and relocated outside the urban area a few weeks ago. The personnel were to recapture the crocodile if possible and transport it to a safe place, with the intended location described as safe for both the reptile and people traveling through the area.

For visitors and residents near Las Mojoneras, the reported sighting places the activity around the canal by avenida México and Paseo de las Flores, near the school.
